With food prices rising, eating quality food is even more expensive. Have you looked at the back of the packaging and seen a list of ingredients that makes you question how much you want the item? For example, I went to Walmart and purchased fresh broccoli and spent close to $4. I wanted fresh broccoli to make teriyaki broccoli and chicken over rice for dinner tomorrow.
Let's look at condiment prices. Store-brand Mayonnaise is $4, and Ranch dressing is $4. Two days ago, I made mayonnaise, ranch dressing, and spicy ranch dressing at home in the equivalent amounts I would get at the store and spent $3.00 total.
So, if you are not food-savvy, do yourself a favor and find a friend who can teach you or help you learn how to make all the yummy goods. If you do not want to bother a friend, remember you can offer to clean, do laundry, or do something to help them. If you do not want to ask a friend, watch videos on YouTube or TikTok. There are plenty out there!
